About me

I’m an IT generalist who is comfortable moving between support, systems, infrastructure, documentation, and software tools.

Stephen Monroe

How I got here

I started in customer support, where I learned how much clear communication matters when someone is already frustrated. From there I moved deeper into IT: MSP support, school technology, Microsoft 365, networking, servers, and eventually service desk management.

I tend to be the person who wants to understand how the whole system works. If a process is repetitive, I look for a way to automate it. If the right tool doesn’t exist, I’m comfortable learning what I need to build one.

AI-assisted development is now part of how I work. I use Hermes agents, Codex, Claude Code, OpenCode, and local and cloud models through Ollama. I define the problem, make the technical decisions, review the work, and troubleshoot what goes wrong. I keep the code in GitHub and use Coolify to deploy Node.js and Docker applications and APIs.
